The Cowrie Restaurant

Having known about this restaurant since I was a child, it was a lovely treat to bring my family here for our end of year celebrations. From the outside it would be easy to miss this local gem, nestled in with the suburban landscape on the hills of Terrigal. We were pleasantly surprised with the sophisticated interiors and absolutely blown away with the coastal views. We chose the 3 course menu and every single dish was uniquely delicious, with generous servings that left everyone content. The kids menu was very generous and my daughter loved the high quality food. The service was great from our main waitress, however slightly inconsistent from the others. Overall I would highly recommend The Cowrie as the Summer menu was light, refreshing and was easily the best restaurant we have visited in years in terms of views, taste and consistency. Thank you for making our lunch so memorable.

This is by far our favourite restaurant on the coast. Amazing food, great service, and a small cosy atmosphere but with the most amazing views over Terrigal and beyond. We’ve visited a few times now and have never been disappointed. As a vegetarian I appreciate the availability of so many options and not just your standard fare but thoughtful dishes equivalent of the non-veg offerings. Of course my wife as a non vegetarian thinks otherwise and is blown away by the oysters, seafood and pork belly. The wine list is terrific (great to see a lot of Hunter wines) and they always have a special cocktail of the day. I really can’t recommend this place enough.

Excellent dinner in a lovely location overlooking Terrigal Beach. We’ve been many times over the years and it’s always the first place we book when we come to Terrigal for the weekend. Staff are brilliant (especially the lovely lady behind the bar that made me an amazing berry and vodka cocktail because I fancied something different). The Kingfish and Kangaroo entrees were really good. The Lamb, Gnocci and Murray Cod were delicious. The Cheesecake, chocolate mousse and croissant ice cream were all fabulous. Highly recommend.
